Details

Mu ice cream is produced every morning in our laboratory and is made only with fine and high quality products such as milk coming exclusively from the Piedmontese Alps’ dairies.
It is also called “American ice-cream“ and gives the palate a unique sensation of creaminess. It is lighter, softer and more delicious, very inviting for the consumer.

WHITE CHOCOLATE – Its history

  • 1828 – The Dutch Van Houten patents the method of separating cocoa butter from cocoa powder, extracting the fat from the inside of the cocoa beans.
  • 1847 – The Fry brothers of London invent the chocolate bar that revolutionizes its use: chocolate is no longer drunk only in a coffee cup but becomes a snack that can be consumed anywhere and at any time and easy to carry and store.
  • After 20 years in Switzerland, the pharmacist Henri Nestlè synthesizes powdered milk, with the aim of reducing infant mortality due to malnutrition; Daniel Peter, a Swiss chocolate producer, exploits his idea and recipes the milk chocolate.
  • 1930 – Nestlè, which has meanwhile become one of the largest food companies on the continent, must handle a problem of production leftovers: an excess of cocoa butter due to the preparation of chocolate and milk powder, produced in large quantities for the sustenance of children during the first world war.
  • 1960 – The first white chocolate bar triumps, now famously called Galak, with its name deliberately inspired by the Greek word γάλα, which means milk.
